DON COUNTS Correspondent I nside the Warrior Exhibit in Fayetteville, memories live on, etched not only in displays and artifacts, but in the voices of those who remember. On this day, those voices belonged to two sisters, Linda Williams and Brenda Roles, who came to share the story of their brother, Marine Corporal Bobby Williams Jr., a young man whose life was cut short in Vietnam, but whose impact continues to echo through generations.

What some might see as rust, dust and worn out machinery, Lincoln County’s own Dylan Mc-Cool sees as opportunity. With a YouTube following of more than 640,000 subscribers, McCool has built a national reputation for rescuing forgotten cars, trucks and what he jokingly calls “plenty of junk.” But to him, every abandoned machine carries a story worth saving.

Carriage House Players will present “They Promised Her the Moon” at 7 p.m. on May 14, 15, 16 and May 21, 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Museum Theatre.
