Lady Falcons Volleyball
Lady Falcon Elizabeth Lyon made a strong play to keep the ball in action during Lincoln County’s home match against Lawrence County. A match of the two district leaders going down the stretch. Earlier in the season, the Lady Falcons dropped their road game to the Lady Wildcats, but last week they edged out a close 3-2 win (25–19, 20–25, 25–21, 26–28, 16–14). This week, the Lady Falcons travel to Franklin County on Tuesday, Shelbyville on Thursday, and the JV team heads to the Grundy County JV Tournament on Saturday. Paul Henry photo

Lincoln County Board of Public Utilities temporarily pauses new water taps
The Lincoln County Board of Public Utilities has temporarily suspended new water service taps for four to six weeks while it collects current flow data across the system, according to LCBPU board member Mark Bolden. Officials said this pause will allow the Board to base future connection approvals on accurate, up-to-date information about system capacity.

Editor’s Note: John Penny, vice president, Fayetteville Lincoln County Museum Association Board, will be providing recurring articles relating to the museum, which is Lincoln County’s only public location housing artifacts from the community’s history. The museum is located inside the Borden Milk Plant, constructed in 1927, and was donated by the William R. Carter family to serve as a local museum in 1987.
Town of Petersburg elects new mayor and vice mayor
Petersburg’s two newly-elected aldermen were sworn into office during the Board of Mayor and Aldermen’s Sept. 8 monthly meeting. The board then elected the mayor and vice mayor who will serve for the next two years.
