School Board approves guaranteed maximun price for Highland Rim renovations and technology

T he Lincoln County Board of Education considered the acceptance of the guaranteed maximum price for the Highland Rim renovation at its May 4 monthly meeting. The agenda item was twofold. In addition to approving the multi-million dollar guaranteed maximum price, the board also approved an additional cost for technology for the school addition.

Timeframe given property owners to begin fire debris cleanup

City officials said cleanup from the five-alarm fire that destroyed four buildings and five businesses on Market Street East is no further along 100 days later than the day after the fire. Containing the fire and preventing smoldering resulted in debris from the four buildings becoming one big pile measuring 16-feet high in places and containing asbestos.
