John Malone remembered for his career, community service and the lives he touched
John Thomas Malone III, a Fayetteville native whose broadcasting career spanned decades and connected communities across North Alabama and southern Middle Tennessee, was posthumously inducted into the Alabama Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame during a special ceremony celebrating the association’s 80th anniversary.

Anthony Taylor inducted into Tennessee Credit Union Hall of Fame
Anthony Taylor, a member of the Ascend Federal Credit Union board of directors and supervisory committee, has been inducted into the Tennessee Credit Union Hall of Fame. The honor was presented during the Tennessee Credit Union League’s Annual Convention & Expo in Gatlinburg.

Early voting for the Nov. 3 state and federal general election, City of Ardmore and Fayetteville municipal elections began last Wednesday and continues through Thursday, Oct. 29.

Candidates for City of Fayetteville mayor participate in forum
The two candidates running for Fayetteville’s next mayor participated in the Oct. 7 candidate forum sponsored by The Elk Valley Times and Elk River Media at the city municipal building. Incumbent Donna Hartman is seeking reelection to another four-year term, while Mark Clark is running for mayor, having previously served as alderman and mayor from 1994-1998 and 19982002, respectively.
