Two local schools awarded TVA STEM grants
Ralph Askins Elementary School and Lincoln County High School have been awarded $5,000 grants from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers, Inc., a TVA retiree organization, to develop STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) projects that spark students’ interests in STEM-related careers.
BOMA OKs City and County fire departments to enter into MOU
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the City of Fayetteville and Lincoln County Volunteer Fire Rescue (LCVFR) since both fire departments assist the other with events when requested. Both departments use their own protective gear that can be damaged when responding to a fire or other situation.

Sanitation rates in Fayetteville to increase 25%
Fayetteville residents will soon see a 25% rate increase on their monthly sanitation collection bill. The Board of Mayor and Alderman (BOMA) unanimously approved the rate increase during the April 14 monthly meeting upon the recommendation of Public Works Director Jack Williams.

A Fayetteville man was recently scammed while searching for a property to rent. The mdividual was advised by a man posing as a realtor that a property was for rent on Terry Avenue.
