James Thomas Leslie, 60, was born on July 3, 1962, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, to the late Willie C. Leslie and Martha Ann Leslie. He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly mansion on Monday, April 17, 2023.

James was preceded in death by his brother. Bobby Charles Buchanan. He was educated in Lincoln County. He accepted Christ and was a member of Mullin Chapel AME Church. He worked at Amana and then went to work for Fayetteville City.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Michael (Christal) Leslie Sr. of Decherd, Tennessee; sister, Annie Florette Stewart of Huntsville, Alabama; step-mother, Nancy Flack Leslie of Shelbyville, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Brandon Jennings, Shannon Buchanan, Kisha Moore, Zana Leslie, Michael Leslie Jr., Braylon (Kim) Leslie; great nieces and nephews, Elijah Fuqua, Malaya Leslie, ZaNyla Leslie, Jordan Leslie, Janiyah Leslie, Jazmine Western, Jamiah Murray, Deonche Moore, Aquoreya Allen, Ke’miya Moore, and Cyon Moore; great-great nephew, Cavontte Moore; aunts, Cathy Kennerly, Florine Dangerfield, Barbara (Stanley) Henderson, Odesa Leslie, and Jeanette Kennerly all of Shelbyville, Tennessee; uncles, Willie Lee Leslie of Fayetteville, Tennessee and Billy Leslie of Shelbyville, Tennessee; a host of relatives and friends; and two special friends, Stirlene Holloway and John Kennerly.

Homegoing services were conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2023, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
