Birdie Lee Sharp, 91, of Petersburg, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on May 18, 1931, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Woodie Aaron and Myrtle Robinson Cowan. She was a retired pencil manufacturing machinist and was a member of Brown Teal Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Calvin Sharp; daughter, Doris Mae Sharp; son, Bobby Ray Sharp; grandson, Thomas Sharp; daughters-in-law, Sybil Sharp and Beth Sharp; sisters, Ola B. White, Dolly Agnes Cowan, Virginia Williams, Roberta Travis, Devern Ward and Dean Carpenter; brother, Arrie Cowan; brother-in-law, Billy Sharp.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Sherman ‘Sam’) Maddox of Lewisburg, Tennessee; son, Jimmy Sharp of Petersburg, Tennessee; grandchildren, Revel Sharp, Sunnie Frattarelli, Justin Sharp, Kristen Fano, Chad Maddox, Hayley Maddox; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 1, 2023, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Shields officiating. Burial followed in Charity Cemetery.
