Park City man dies following fire
A 64-year old Park City man died of injuries sustained following a fire in a mobile home residence Wednesday afternoon.
According to a report by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Karly Cotton, the Benji Lane resident was smoking while using oxygen when the fire erupted.
He was transported by MedFlight to Vanderbilt Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
“Lincoln County Volunteer Fire Rescue (LCVFR) was able to get the fire under control,” said Doug Campbell, Lincoln County Fire Chief and Emergency Management Agency director.
Campbell, who said he was not present at the fire, said he believes there may have been three other individuals in the residence at the time of the accident, but he was not aware of anyone else being injured.
