The 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States is approaching. Lincoln County and Fayetteville City officials said the county has a unique opportunity to “come together in celebration of our nation’s history, our shared vision and the strong community spirit that defines the county.”
Petersburg BOMA approves agreement to transfer water system to FPU
The Petersburg water system will soon be transferred to A Fayetteville Public Utilities with water customers being billed by FPU by May l, 2026.

FCE student scholarship applications are now available for graduating seniors

Duty, discipline, desire: Jeremy Thompson feels called to serve
I nside the Warrior Exhibit in Fayetteville Tennessee, the stories of service line the walls. On this day, one of those stories stood in front of us, not framed in glass, but living and breathing. Jeremy Thompson, a Lincoln County native with 22 years of service in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard, has built a life defined by duty, discipline, and an unwavering desire to help others.

Trustees at the Lincoln County Jail are growing produce and producing joy
This spring the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has implemented a win-win project that will not only supply fresh, healthy produce for local residents facing food insecurity, but also provide inspiration for the trustees caring for it. The bounty from the garden will be donated to Hands of Mercy Outreach Center throughout the growing season. Hands of Mercy is currently feeding more than 100 local families.
