BOMA approves applying for two grants, awards bid

D uring its May 12 regular monthly meeting, the Fayetteville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved awarding a bid for a heating and cooling unit at the recreation building; approved a memorandum of understanding to help pay lifeguards at the pool during the summer; approved applying for a HOME grant and a clean water grant; and approved issuing two event permits.

25 years ago May 30, 2001 SPECIAL DIPLOMA - Stan Golden, director of schools for Lincoln County, congratulates Billy Parker, a World War II veteran, just after presenting him with his high school diploma. SCHRA to provide meals for children through Summer Food Service Program

S outh Central Human Resource Agency is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, and reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service (not all prohibited bases apply to all programs), SCHRA officials said. According to officials, meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis, at the sites from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on May 29, June 5, June 12, June 18, June 26, July 2, July 10, July 17 and July 24 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
