Lincoln Hospice Mother’s Day Plant Sale

April 28 Granny Hobbies Class Series
The Granny Hobbies Class Series at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Art Center, 303 Main Avenue South, features a fabric yo-yo class from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Taught by Teresa Currin, the beginner’s class will create a garden-inspired wall hanging. All supplies will be provided. Registration fee is $30 for non-members and $25 for Art Center members.
May 1 TPA Sanctioned Truck & Tractor Pull
Tennessee Pullers Association LLC (TPA) Sanctioned Truck & Tractor Pull begins at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. Admission is $10, cash only. Ages five and under are admitted free. May 2 Tea and Crumpets at Rec Center
St. Paul AME Church will host Tea and Crumpets at the Fayetteville Recreation Center beginning at 1 p.m. The theme is “A Day at the Derby.” Wear your fancy hats and attire for the Hat Parade. Have fun learning about the Kentucky Derby. Tickets are $15 each and children under 4 are admitted free.
59th Annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast
The 59th Annual Kiwanis pancake breakfast will be held from 6:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Fayetteville Farmers Market, 421 Lincoln Avenue South. Drive through or eat in. A $8 donation is requested.
First Saturday

May 8 FLC Senior Center Fundraiser
The Fayetteville-Lincoln County (FLC) Senior Center, 908 West Washington Street, is holding a BBQ sandwich fundraiser and bake sale from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The meal includes a BBQ sandwich, drink, chips and a cookie. Tickets are $10 each. Eat in or pick up in at the drive through. Baked goods will be available to purchase.
May 9 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Leave a bag of nonperishable food next to your mailbox on Saturday, May 9. Mail carriers will pick up donations during The National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp out Hunger Food Drive.
LCHA Stock Horse Show

May 15 Veterans & Community Town Hall
The community is invited to a Veterans & Community Town Hall beginning at 6 p.m. held at Lincoln County Department of Education (NGA) Auditorium, 909 Main Avenue South. The key topic is transportation challenges for veterans to the VA for medical appointments in Nashville, Murfreesboro and Columbia. The open forum is also for the public to learn how veterans support the community and to recognize businesses that support veterans.
May 16 Vanntown Volunteer Fire Rescue Annual Homecoming
Vanntown Volunteer Fire Rescue’s Annual Homecoming begins at 9 a.m. at 320 Vanntown Road, Flintville. Local bands will be playing throughout the day, along with a live auction of donated items. Pit BBQ and chicken will be for sale. Bouncy houses will be onsite for the kids.
June 20 Petersburg 12th Annual Truck and Tractor Pull
Petersburg’s Lion Club’s 12th Annual Truck and Tractor Pull begins at 7 p.m. at the Lions facility, 3000 Free Silver Road, Petersburg. Classes for beginner competitors to those with specialized machines will be included in the competition. Admission for parking is $10.
Mondays Petersburg Senior Citizens Center Chair Yoga
Petersburg Senior Citizens Center, 68 Morgan Circle, offers chair yoga classes from 10:30 until 11 a.m. The center is open from 9 a.m. until noon Mondays through Fridays. Bingo games are from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Call 931-536-5568 to register to play bingo.
Ladies Free Exercise Classes

FLC Senior Center offers activities, including pool, corn hole, cards, ping pong and board games, for those 55 and over from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Special activity days and classes are offered throughout the month. Bingo is every Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The American Legion Post 42 VFW, 2007 Wilson Parkway, has bingo the second and fourth Tuesdays for all ages. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m.; bingo kicks off at 6 p.m.; dessert is served at 7 p.m. Kids are also welcome. Proceeds help support local veterans, flags, maintaining the crosses and the community.
Free clothing to families in need
The Old Time Christian Outreach Center, 1992 Pulaski Highway (Hwy. 64 West), provides free clothing to families in need. The center is open Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. for clothing or monetary donations. For more information call 931-205-7878.
Wings of Love Ministries
Wings of Love Ministries, located at 5 East Prospect Road in Park City, offers assistance on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The nonprofit, non-denominational ministry supports women in times of personal need, offering free Bibles, emergency food, clothing and other life needs as the situation requires.
