Community Veterans Town Hall set for 6 p.m. Friday, May 15

A Community Veterans Town Hall aimed at “bridging the gap between veterans, businesses and the community” is set for 6 p.m. Friday, May 15, at the Lincoln Central Academy auditorium, 909 Main Avenue South.
The public is invited to attend. The event is open to Veterans, their families, local businesses, organizations and community members.
County Services Officer Tammy D. McConnell of the Lincoln County Veterans Service Office said the goal of the Town Hall is to bridge the gap between Veterans and the community “by creating an open dialogue where people can learn from one another and better understand the needs and contributions of those who served.”
McConnell said Veterans and local Veterans organizations will share how they support the community through service, volunteer work, and outreach. “We also want to recognize and thank the local businesses that hire Veterans and support Veteran initiatives,” she said.
“At the same time, this forum will give community members and business leaders an opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions, and discuss ways we can work together to strengthen our community,” McConnell said.
