Third annual Race to Main will be held on July 4

Fayetteville Main Street asks the public to join them for a day of adventure on the Elk River and downtown for the third annual Race to Main.
Check in is at 7:30 a.m. for the seven-mile competitive Race to Main. The race begins 8 a.m. with staggered starts by category. Drop-in begins at the Chenault Ford Public River Access behind Frito-Lay. The race finish is at the Stone Bridge Park Greenway followed by award presentations and lunch on the Fayetteville square.
A $200 prize will be awarded to the winners of each category. All participants will be given a Race to Main T-shirt and lunch at First Saturday. Participants must be 11 years of age or older to enter and all watercraft must be man-powered; no motors allowed.
Tickets are $25 to $60 depending on the watercraft and the number of participants on a team.
