Lady Falcon softball dominates district tournament

L incoln County softball had no trouble through the 4A District 6 tournament. The Lady Falcons dominated their three games by a combined score of 25-2 to claim the district championship Up first was a 10-0 run rule victory of Shelbyville in five innings. That was followed by another shutout, this time 8-0 over Warren County.
Their closest game was the 7-2 win in the district championship vs Coffee County, a game which Lincoln County led 7-0 entering the seventh inning.
The Lady Falcons finish a perfect sweep of district competition, going 8-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the postseason. Lincoln County outscored the district by a combined score of 127-11.
Their dominance earned awards for the regular season. All nine Lady Falcon starters were named to the all-district team. Lincoln County also took home six of the seven possible superlative awards.
Up next for the Lady Falcons is the region tournament, which begins at home with a top 25 matchup against Walker Valley.
Lincoln County seeks revenge against the Mustangs. Walker Valley claimed a 7-5 victory in Gulf Shores on March 11.
