Falcon Baseball finishes No. 2 in district

Lincoln County baseball wrapped up their regular season last week. The Falcons went 2-1, locking up the No. 2 seed for the district tournament.
The week began with a sour 2-6 loss at Coffee County. The Red Raiders scored five in the first inning and held on the rest of the way.
Lincoln County responded the next night, leading 6-0 early against Coffee County. Despite allowing three runs near the end, the Falcons managed to win 6-3 for the district series tie.
The regular season ended with Lincoln County claiming a 3-1 victory over Giles County. The Falcons put up all their runs in the first inning.
Marshall Smith went 5.1 innings against Lawrence County, wiggling off the hook several times, including bases loaded in the second inning. Carson Haney came in relief for the five-out save.
Lincoln County finishes the regular season 25-8 overall and the No. 2 seed for the district tournament. The Falcons will host a 3-game semifinal series against Shelbyville to determine who plays for the district championship.
