Middle School Falcons repeat as champs

Staff reports
After clinching the TSSAA Middle School State Baseball Championship in 2025, the Falcons returned to the winners’ circle in 2026 — a remarkable accomplishment for any program. Even more impressively, the team reached this milestone with an entirely new roster, as no players returned from the previous season.
Coach Tucker Webb, who previously served as an assistant for five years, has led the Falcons to back-to-back titles in his first two years as head coach. Supported by assistant coach Dylan Gentry, the coaching duo guided the team to a 17-5 season.
The Falcons’ postseason journey began with a district championship win over Moore County 5-4, followed by regional and state semifinal victories against Jasper Middle School, 6-3, and Grandview, 5-2 respectively. In the championship game, the Falcons defeated Inman, winning 6-1 to secure the state title.
In their final game with the Bulldogs, the Falcons scored two runs in the first inning, added one in the fourth, another in the fifth, and two more in the seventh. Inman managed its only run in the bottom of the sixth.
Lincoln County’s offense stayed hot with seven hits, seven walks, and four stolen bases. Maddox Groce and Hudson Evans each tallied two singles, while Abe Tate and Braylon Ogle contributed singles, and Brantley Johnson delivered a double.
On the mound, Johnson delivered a strong performance, pitching six innings and allowing just one earned run on seven hits, with two walks and three strikeouts. Walker McCain closed out the game, surrendering no hits, runs, walks, or strikeouts.
