The Champions
The Champions League, a special needs baseball team, recently faced off against LC Prime, a 12-U travel team, in a spirited three-inning game at Kiwanis Park. Despite LC Prime bringing their best Banana Ball strategies, the Champions secured a decisive 13-0 victory. The event was organized by Nathan Browning of the Fayetteville Recreation Department and Coach Billy Jack Netherland, who coaches both teams. Coach Julia Townsend also assists with The Champions.

Middle School Falcons repeat as champs
After clinching the TSSAA Middle School State Baseball Championship in 2025, the Falcons returned to the winners’ circle in 2026 — a remarkable accomplishment for any program. Even more impressively, the team reached this milestone with an entirely new roster, as no players returned from the previous season.

Special Olympians
Special needs athletes from across the area gathered at the Tullahoma Special Olympics, recently held at Watkins Stadium. Coordinated with Special Olympics Tennessee Area 13, nearly 800 Olympians from Coffee, Franklin, Bedford, Moore, and Lincoln counties competed in a variety of events. Now in its 49th year, the Special Olympics continues to give both child and adult competitors the opportunity to demonstrate courage, joy, and camaraderie with their families, fellow Olympians, and the community.
