Bobbye “Janet” Dorning Mick

Bobbye “Janet” Dorning Mick, a longtime resident of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 84, under the care of Enhabit Hospice.
Janet was born on Feb. 19, 1942, to Robert Irving Dorning, Sr. and Clarice Steelman Dorning. She was a faithful member of Willowbrook Baptist Church, where she found fellowship, spiritual support, and lasting friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Wilburn Olon “Randy” Randolph Jr., and Robert “Bob” Mick; her brothers, Kenneth Ray “Ken” Dorning, Robert “Irving” Dorning Jr., and William Allen “Chief” Dorning; and her sisters, Joan Dorning, Helen Dorning Hudson, and Sue Kinsey Boswell.
Janet is survived by her loving family, including her son, Walter Arnold Randolph (Amanda) of Columbiana, Alabama; her daughter, Lea Anne Randolph Junjulas of Huntsville, Alabama; grandson, Peyton Randolph Junjulas (Kara) of Athens, Alabama; her cherished great-grandson, Rowen Andrew Junjulas; her bonus grandson, Caleb Henry Russell (Katherine) of Columbiana, Alabama; her bonus great-granddaughter, Delilah Marie Russell; and her brother, Jerry Louis Dorning (Karen). Family was the center of Janet’s life, and she delighted in supporting and celebrating each generation.
Professionally, Janet retired as an Executive Office Administrator with NASA, following more than 30 years of dedicated and exemplary service. Her diligence, professionalism, and steady leadership earned the respect and appreciation of colleagues throughout her distinguished career. Janet will be remembered for her strength, compassion, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the generations she lovingly nurtured.
Visitation was held Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home inHuntsville, Alabama. The service followed in the chapel with Dean Temple officiating. Interment followed at Maple Hill Cemetery, 203 Maple Hill Drive, Huntsville, Alabama.
