Funeral service for Elwyn Faye Benson, 85, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kelso Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Faye was born on Oct. 28, 1939, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Rufus Aaron Moorehead and Sophie Elma Clayton Moorehead. She was of the Presbyterian Faith. Faye passed away on Oct. 26, 2025, at Donalson Care Center.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Benson; son, Douglas Clayton Tankersley; and her six siblings, L.C. Moorehead, Elaine McAnally, Dorothy Corder, Virginia White, Mary Jo Hall, and Nell Sanders.

Faye is survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, who will cherish her memory.
