Fay Cowan Barnes, 93, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

She was born on Jan. 5, 1932, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, to the late Herman and Elsie Towry Cowan.

She was a graduate of Blanche High School in Taft, Tennessee. After marrying, she moved to Nashville where she enjoyed a longstanding career in procurement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

In addition to her parents, Fay is proceeded in death by her husband, Bobby Barnes; her brother Billy Cowan; her sister Dorothy Moore; her niece, Jeaniene Winkler Jones; and nephews Rickey, Mark, Brandon, and Joseph Moore.

She is survived by three sisters, Ann Keller (Roy) of Fayetteville, Tennessee; Nancy Winkler (Foster) of Indian Land, South Carolina; and Pam Yuska of Columbus, Ohio. Fay is also survived by several adoring nieces and nephews.

The family will honor her with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at Kirkland
