Ronald Wayne Mitchell Obituary

Ronald Wayne Mitchell, 77, of Frankewing, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at McBurg First Baptist Church with Bro. Timmy Scott and Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial followed in Wright’s Cemetery.

Born on May 14, 1947, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Odis and Juanita Burns Mitchell, Ronnie dedicated his life to hard work, faith, and family. He began his career with the Lincoln County Highway Department before spending 38 years at Magotteaux in Pulaski, where he retired. Outside of work, Ronnie found joy in tending to his garden, raising cattle and chickens, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Volunteers. A devoted member of McBurg First Baptist Church, he held his faith and church family close to his heart. Though a man of few words, Ronnie expressed his love through quiet acts of kindness and unwavering devotion to those he cared about. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, and he took immense pride in being the best “Pa” to his grandchildren attending all of their activities. His steady presence, warm heart, and love for his family will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Mitchell; children, Bimbo (Ami) Mitchell, Tammy (Dwayne) Carpenter, Troy (Sissy) Mitchell; grandchildren, Candi (Aaron) Boldin, Nici (Clint) Gill, Chae (Dustin) Adkinson, Taylor (Nathan) Bryant, Dakota Smith, Tanner Smith; great-grandchildren, Ashton Boldin, Callie Gill, Zel Adkinson, and Kelsie Gill; brother, Roger Mitchell. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Paul Mitchell; sister, Brenda Mitchell Williams; sister-in-law, Brenda Mitchell; and nephew, Danny Williams.
