Opal Pigg, 96, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center. She was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee, on Jan. 31, 1929, to the late Johnny and Bernice Pack Orr. Mrs. Pigg was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Bill” Pigg; one daughter, Donna Pigg Smith; one sister, Carline Polly; and two brothers, Milton Orr and Carroll Orr.

Mrs. Pigg is survived by her three grandchildren, Missy Smith, Corey (Stephanie) Smith, and Christie Smith; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Smith (Savanah Veal and daughter, Shelby Jones), Austin Smith, Damien Smith and Kynlee Smith; one great-great grandchild, Anakin Smith; two sisters, Gail Swenson and Pamela Comstock; a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.

“Mama” will be missed by many.

Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Ronnie Thomas officiating.
