Rickey Nolan Sells Sr. Obituary

Rickey Nolan Sells Sr., 68, of Flintville, Tennessee, departed this life on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following a brief illness.

Mr. Sells was born in Winchester, Tennessee, on Feb. 15, 1956, to the late Walter and Irena Brewer Sells. He was a 1974 graduate of Franklin County High School. He was a Christian and had last attended Belvidere Baptist Church.

Mr. Sells was a self-employed, licensed HVAC specialist. He was employed at Goodman in Fayetteville for approximately 13 years before his retirement. He was also a farmer and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Sells was a collector of any item he felt might be useful in the future and was a “giver and a helper.” Mr. Sells liked meeting new people and spending time with his friends and family, his favorite was his cat, Sheba. He was referred to by his family as a “Jack of all Trades.” He will be loved and greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Sells of Flintville; children, Holly (Johnny) McClure of Belvidere, Rickey Nolan Sells Jr. (Samantha) of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Julie McClure, Lyla and Lucy Sells; brother, Anthony Sells of Christiana, Tennessee; step-children, Jeremy Taylor of Fayetteville and Stacy Sims of St. Louis, Missouri; and several step-grandchildren.

A visitation with the family is scheduled for 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.
