Juell Hughey Adams, 81, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Jan. 30, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Moore officiating. Private interment will be in Hurricane Cemetery.

Born on June 18, 1943, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, Juell was the daughter of the late Clarence Buford Hughey and Nellie Allene Curtis Hughey. She dedicated her career to the textile industry, working as a seamstress for Serbin and Lee Clothing. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Juell cherished time spent with her family. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church.

Juell is survived by her daughter, Danette Cartwright; grandson, James Brandon Cartwright; brother, Douglas (Carolyn) Hughey; sisters, Joyce Norwood and Elaine Moore; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Wayne Adams; her brother, Ernie D. Hughey; and sisters, Patty Dorning, Lois Norwood, and Mary Ellen Tipper.
