Mary Irene Hunter, 93, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on June 18, 2024 at Donalson Care Center.

She was born on May 4, 1931, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Russell and Elvator Swinford Roland. Mrs. Hunter was a former employee of Serbin and later worked as a CNA at the former Sunbridge Care and Rehab.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Hunter; daughters, Kathy Lewter and Gail Todd; sister, Joan Newbern; and brothers, John Roland, Roy Roland and William Lee Roland.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by her daughter, Darlene Towry (Mark) of Fayetteville; sisters, Marie Reese and Mary Jane Roland, both of Fayetteville; brothers, Billy Roland and Ray Roland, both of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Monica Welch (Roger), Heath Lewter, Sean Todd, Eli Todd (Natasha), Michelle Towry and Adam Towry; great-grandchildren, Ben (Ashley), Josh, Heather (Tyler), Kaden, Lexi, Saul, Jonny, Jake, Morgan, Brady and Max; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial followed in Prospect Cemetery.
