Sara Ann Stone Helton, 88, of Petersburg, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

A graveside service was held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at Medium Cemetery with Bro. Jim Mickels officiating.

Mrs. Helton was born Jan. 4, 1935, to the late Avon and Nola Adams Stone in the Delina community of Marshall County, Tennessee. She was a member of Hickory Heights Church of Christ in Lewisburg. Sara was a graduate of St. Thomas Hospital School of Nursing and worked the majority of her career as a registered nurse at Lincoln Medical Center. Sara was a wonderful and caring nurse and was well thought of by her patients and coworkers. She would say, however, that her greatest achievement was raising her children. Sara was dedicated to her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and sister.

Survivors include her children, Lisa Helton of Fayetteville, and Tommy Helton of Petersburg; sister, Glennara Haislip of Fayetteville; brothers, Norman (Alpha) Stone of Ogden, Utah, and David (Stacy) Stone of Ooltewah, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Helton Jr.
