BOMA OKs City and County fire departments to enter into MOU
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the City of Fayetteville and Lincoln County Volunteer Fire Rescue (LCVFR) since both fire departments assist the other with events when requested. Both departments use their own protective gear that can be damaged when responding to a fire or other situation.

Sanitation rates in Fayetteville to increase 25%
Fayetteville residents will soon see a 25% rate increase on their monthly sanitation collection bill. The Board of Mayor and Alderman (BOMA) unanimously approved the rate increase during the April 14 monthly meeting upon the recommendation of Public Works Director Jack Williams.

A fraudulent text message demanding payment for unpaid traffic fines is being sent to folks in the area, according to the Fayetteville Police Department (FPD). A photo of the official looking text is on the FPD Facebook page, along with a warning to residents not to fall for the deception.
