Mayor says Petersburg is only receiving fraction of obligations contracted by LCSO
In July 2025, the Town of Petersburg and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for additional law enforcement services for Petersburg, following the Petersburg Police Department being disband. The MOU was signed by Petersburg Mayor Shantel Gatlin and Tull Malone, sheriff of Lincoln County.
