Fayetteville’s annual Fourth of July celebration is June 27

As America is celebrating its 250th birthday this year, the City of Fayetteville’s Fourth of July celebration will be held Saturday, June 27 at Don Davidson Park. Sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, the event gets underway at 4:30 p.m. Fireworks will shoot off around 9 p.m.
Yes, the celebration is a week early, but it gives everyone longer to appreciate our county’s history, according to organizers.
“We tried to set the celebration up for July 4, but the company we use for fireworks has a bigger event planned that night,” said Nathan Browning, director of parks and recreation. “Who doesn’t want to celebrate this wonderful country more than one day? We will have tons of fun things to do on June 27.”
The event will include a DJ playing music beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by Strangers with Friends taking to the stage for a free two-hour concert. Food trucks with be on site. Kids can enjoy bounce houses, balloon animals and Pixie Doodle Face Art, and more. Fireworks will get underway around 9 p.m., according to Browning.
Organizers encourage everyone to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a great celebration.
Don Davidson Park is located at 1701 Wilson Parkway, Fayetteville.
