Jim Hammons announces candidacy for District 1 commissioner

Jim Hammons said he is “excited and grateful” to announce his candidacy for District 1 county commissioner.
Born and raised in Lincoln County, Hammons said he has been married to his beautiful wife, Lillie, for five years. The couple has two daughters and another baby on the way.

“I want to be your commissioner simply because I care deeply for this county and my community,” Hammons said. “I have served on the Board of Zoning Appeals for Lincoln County since 2025. I also volunteer as a football coach at Riverside Christian Academy.
“I want to become more involved in representing and serving my community. Being elected as commissioner by my community would be an honor.”

“I want your opinion to be heard, valued and represented,” he said. “I do not believe the role of a commissioner is to vote based on what he alone views is right. I want the members of my district to know they can call on me any time to share their questions and concerns, and I will be their voice. I will work diligently to communicate the needs of my district and represent you with honesty, efficiency, and integrity.
