Fire from a wood burning furnace damaged the interior of a Huntsville Highway resident’s workshop last Wednesday, March 18, according to the Fayetteville Fire Department.

“It started from a wood furnace. He was inside cleaning and built a fire. When he turned around, the back wall was on fire,” said Chief Davy Bergman.

There were no injuries, Chief Bergman said.

A GoFundMe account was started for Dale Metcalf, the owner of the property, by his granddaughter.
