Camille Joan Pfeifer Obituary

Camille Joan Pfeifer, 88, of Manchester formerly of Chicago, Illinois, departed this life on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital following an extended illness. 

Miss Pfeifer was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Rudolph “Rudy” Albert Pfeifer and Dorothy Moloney Pfeifer on Jan. 25, 1937. She was employed for several years for AT&T in Chicago as a telephone operator.  Miss Pfeifer loved flowers and plants and operated her own green house and raised beautiful orchids in Chicago. She liked to read and had many books over the years.

 She lived in Chicago until 2000. She relocated to Flintville, Tennessee, to be close to her brother and other family members. She last attended the Flintville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her family knew not to call her in the mornings when she was working out to her Jane Fonda tapes. She had several dogs during her life and loved them as her “children.”  She will be remembered for her outgoing personality as she was a very friendly person that never met a stranger. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Clifford Pfeifer; brother, Roger Pfeifer; nephew, Steven Pfeifer; and niece, Debbie Koziol.  

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth Pfeifer of Flintville; nieces, Laura (Tony) Burback of Lake In The Hills, Illinois, Sandra Brumitt of Flintville, Christine (Doug) Pfeifer of Crystal Lake, Illinois; and nephew, John (Jennifer) Pfeifer of Crystal Lake, Illinois.

A graveside service was conducted on Friday, Aug. 15, at the Flintville Cemetery in Flintville, Tennessee, with Bro. Ray Gardner officiating.

Grant Funeral Services in Estill Springs, Tennessee, is in charge of arrangements.
