Loyd Arnold Simmons, 92, of Frankewing, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

He was born July 11, 1931, in Madison County, Alabama, son of the late R.O. and Mary Potts Simmons. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the US Army and a retired truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jean F. Simmons; daughter, Linn Irth; sister, Elizabeth Hale; and brother, Harold E. Simmons.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his daughters, Sarah Winsett and Nancy Simmons; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, in Wrights Cemetery with Elder Robert Harless Hale officiating.
