Roy Roland, 88, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at his residence.

He was born in Lincoln County on March 8, 1935, to the late Russell and Elvada Swinford Roland.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Uldean Mills Roland; one daughter, Deborah Stillwell; one son, Donnie Roland; two brothers, John Roland and William Lee Roland and one sister, Joann Newman. Mr. Roland was a mechanic and was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.

Mr. Roland is survived by his wife, Reba Gault Roland; two daughters, Brenda Howell and Sheila O’Neal; three sisters, Irene Hunter, Mary Jane Roland and Marie Reese; two brothers, Billy Roland and Ray Roland; seven grandchildren, Tracy Howell (Jamie) Smith, Chris (Wendi) Sawyers, Amanda Sawyers, Brittany Stillwell, Jonathan O’Neal, Tonya Frost and Cody Palmer and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Tim Rice officiating. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery.
