Barbara Jean Kent Gleghorn, 86, of Petersburg, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 8, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Anthony Gleghorn officiating. Burial followed in Wright’s Cemetery.

Jean was born May 4, 1937, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Roy Lee Kent Sr. and Margaret Lucinda West Kent. She was a seamstress at Jonathan Logan and Lee Manufacturing, and later retired from Cosmo Lab. Jean was a member of Boonshill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She dearly loved her family, and she was a wonderful cook. She especially enjoyed cooking lunch for everyone on Sundays.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Randy) Stubblefield, Lisa (Larry) Posey, and Todd Gleghorn; grandchildren, Carolyn Chasity (Randy) Thorpe, Amanda Lynn (Chuck) Green, Erica Wells, and Coy Wells; Chris (Bridget) Posey; Brandon (Tonya) Posey, great-grandchildren, Dakota Thorpe, Cheyenne Thorpe, Destiny Ware, Dustin Ware, and Taylor Ware; sister, Dottie (Bill) Nickell; brother, Monte Kent; and sister-in-law, Kathy Kent. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gleghorn was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Crawford Gleghorn; a son, Tim Gleghorn; sisters, Betty Margaret Kent, Sherry Ann Kent; and brother, Roy Lee “R.L.” Kent Jr.
