Gaynell Painter, 88, of Flintville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Lincoln Medical Center.

 She was born on Jan. 6, 1935, in Madison County, Alabama, daughter of the late Elbert and Lorena Newgent Horton. She was the owner of G&W Grocery and was a member of Stewarts Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Painter; son, Rickie Painter; and brother, Lee Vaughn Horton.

Mrs. Painter is survived by her son, Stevie (Greta) Painter; granddaughter, Jennifer (Jamie) Louden; bonus grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Coppinger and James (Stephanie) Wright; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Horton; and a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Pierson and the Rev. Mike Robertson officiating. Burial followed in Flintville Cemetery.
