John Ed Ridiner

John Ed Ridiner, 64, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on March 22, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital. A funeral service was held Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Hollingsworth and Bro. Jason Caldwell officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.

Born on Jan. 21, 1962, in Fayetteville, John was the son of the late Robert Allen Ridiner and Mable Peden Ridiner. A skilled electrician by trade, John spent many years lending his expertise to both commercial and residential projects.John was a man who couldn’t sit still. Whether he was tinkering with old trucks and cars as a proud member of the Voodoo Customs Car Club or meticulously restoring an old John Deere tractor, he always had a project in motion. When he wasn’t under a hood, John was likely on the dance floor, behind a karaoke microphone, or tending to a smoker. He was known far and wide for his excellent Boston butts.

An unrepentant early riser, John believed the rest of the world should be awake when he was, often delighting in early morning “wake-up calls” to family and friends. He had a gift for “aggravating” those he cared about most, a trait that was always rooted in his deep love for people and his desire to lift others up. He simply enjoyed life and made sure everyone around him did, too.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Kathy Denton Ridiner; daughter, Jennifer Legan; three grandchildren; sisters, Paulette Newgent and Patricia Whitaker; brothers, James Robert Ridiner and Paul Ridiner; as well as many extended family members and dear friends. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Ridiner.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of John Ed Ridiner.
