Janet McChesney Jetton

Janet McChesney Jetton (April 7, 1943 – March 15, 2026) It is with a hope born of the Resurrection that we announce the passing of Janet McChesney Jetton, 82, of Fayetteville, Tennessee. A devoted wife, mother, and pillar of her faith community, Janet entered eternal rest on March 15, 2026, at Donalson Care Center, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on April 7, 1943, to the late John and Frances Ann Dubsky McChesney, Janet was a woman of intellect and heart. After attending St. Petersburg Jr. College, she earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida. She dedicated her professional life to the care of others as a medical technologist at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

On Aug. 13, 1967, Janet married the love of her life, James Luther Jetton. Together, they shared 58 and a half years of a beautiful, Christ-centered marriage. In 1976, they moved to Hot Rock in Lincoln County to establish Balingary Farms. As owners of a dairy goat farm, they became integral to the local agricultural community, founding the first Dairy Goat Show at the Lincoln County Fair and volunteering with the Lincoln County 4-H. She was also a member of the American Dairy Goat Association.

A founding member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Janet’s life was an extension of her faith. She served her parish with joy as a catechist, a member of the Parish Council, and in numerous other roles over the decades.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim; their children, Jeremy (Sharon) Jetton, Jennifer Jetton Hahs, John Jetton, and Julia Jetton (Michael) McCalip; and her beloved grandchildren, Silas Hahs, Joseph Jetton, Kate Jetton, Theo Riney, and Nathaniel McCalip.
