Free 2025 Tax Preparation and E-filing

Free Tax Preparation and E-filing of 2025 tax returns is available by Volunteer Income Tax Preparation (VITA) volunteers for anyone whose income for 2025 is generally less than $67,000. Volunteers are available from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays through April 15 at West End Baptist Church, 200 Morgan Ave. North. No appointment is necessary.

Leadership Lincoln application process open

The Class of 2026-27 Leadership Lincoln application process is open through Aug. 5, 2026. Participants gain expanded knowledge of the community, develop relationships and acquire skills to assume a more active and effective role in addressing community needs. Available at https://www. fayettevillelincolncountychamberofcommerce. com, applications should be returned by Aug. 5 to the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, 208 Elk Avenue South, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

April 1 Don’t Be Fooled

The annual Don’t Be Fooled event will be held for senior citizens from 10 a.m. until noon at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. The event is designed to educate about scams and prevent identity theft, as well as providing free onsite document shredding and prescription drug take-back. Other free services include a drop-off for unwanted eyeglasses, hearing aids, used ink cartridges and soda can pull tabs. While there folks can have their blood pressure checked and receive free goodies. Entrance to the event at the Fairgrounds is on Amana Avenue.

April 3 Leadership Boston Butt Fundraiser pick-up

Leadership Lincoln’s Boston Butt Fundraiser pick up times are from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Farmers Market, 414 Lincoln Avenue. Leadership will have a few extra Boston Butts on hand for purchase at $50 each.

April 4 First Saturday Outdoor Market First Saturday’s outdoor market, held each month from April to October on the Fayetteville Square, begins at 9 a.m. The market features a variety of vendors selling locally-grown produce, handmade crafts, baked goods, other artisanal and food trucks. Vendor registration is required for each First Saturday event and opens on the 15th of the month prior within the calendar event located on the Fayetteville Main Street website.

April 5 Hope Church Easter Service

Hope Church Easter Service will hold two services. The first service will be at 8:30 a.m. and the second service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Kids’ Easter egg hunts will be included in each service. Hope Church is located at 28 Deer Trace Road in Fayetteville.

April 10 Prom Promises at LC High School

Prom Promises, a simulated car accident and emergency, begins at 8 a.m. at Lincoln County High School. Emergency vehicles and personnel will be present for the realistic demonstration. The event is designed to show students the devastating consequences when people drive under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

April 11 Good Will Ball – Frida’s Fiesta de Flores!

Tickets are on sale for the 5th Annual Good Will Ball to be held from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. at Sacred Stone Events, 47 Hawthorne Lane. The theme is Frida’s Fiesta de Flores! The ball is hosted by the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Arts Center. Tickets are $50 each and include Mexican cuisine, two drink tickets, dessert and $40 play money. Lincoln County Horseman’s Association’s Speed Show

The Lincoln County Horseman’s Association (LCHA) Speed Show will be held at the LCHA’s Show Grounds beginning at 10:30 a.m. Horses will be judged at noon. For more information or to contact the organization go to the LCHA Fayetteville, TN Facebook page. The LCHA is located at 2 Wilkes Road.

April 16 Head Start Policy Council meets

The South Central Human Resource Agency Head Start/Early Head Start Policy Council will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the South Central Human Resource Agency Central Offi ce, 1437 Winchester Hwy.

April 17 LCHS STEAM Night

Lincoln County High School (LCHS) is hosting STEMA Night “From Imagination to Innovation” from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. This free community event is open to k-12 students, families, homeschool groups and community members. Local businesses, industries, technical programs and community organizations are invited to participate. Tables and space will be provided at no cost. Reserve space by April 1. FFA Greenhouse Plant Sale

Lincoln County Future Farmers of America (FFA) Greenhouse Plant Sale will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17 and from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 18 behind Lincoln County High School, 1233 Huntsville Highway.

April 18 12th Annual Slawburger Chase 5k

The 12th Annual Slawburger Chase 5K will be held from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Lincoln County High School’s cross country course. The event is for all fitness levels from seasoned distance runners to walkers. Proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit Always Endure. Slawburger Festival

Fayetteville Main Street is hosting the family- friendly annual Slawburger Festival in downtown Fayetteville from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. The Slawburger Eating Competition begins at 1:30 p.m. with both youth and adult divisions. Voodoo Customs annual car, truck, bike show

Voodoo Customs is hosting its third annual spring car, truck, bikes and kids show at Lincoln County High School, 1223 Huntsville Hwy. Elk Valley Crafters and a swap meet with free set up is part of the event. Food truck vendors will be onsite. Entry fee for the car show is $20 and $5 for kids. Registration is from 9 a.m. until noon; awards and 50/50 give away is at 1:30 p.m. Voodoo Customs is a nonprofit helping those in need. April 25 Annual Heart of RCA Benefit Dinner & Auction

The Annual Riverside Christian Academy (RCA) Benefit Dinner & Auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are $40 for adults, $30 for a child or student and $275 for a table of eight reservation. Spring Fling Crafter’s Market

The Spring Fling Crafters Market will be held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, 1003 Hedgemont Avenue. The event includes crafters, food trucks and onsite entertainment.

Benefit Car, Truck and Bike Show

A Car, Truck and Bike Show will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Don Davidson Park, 1701 Wilson Parkway. Trophies, food trucks and other vendors will be onsite. Entry fee is $20. Funds raised go to local veterans and Clothe Our Kids.

Our Town Fair in Petersburg

Petersburg’s Our Town Fair will be held from noon until 4 p.m. at Morgan Park, 120 East Side Square. Activities include a flea market, a Juntique roadshow, art sale, plant sale, book sale and cruise in. Additionally, Petersburg Lions Club will be conducting vision screening for children at the fair.

April 26 Church of Christ at Wells Hill Gospel Meeting

A Gospel meeting featuring speaker Rusty Hills, will be held at the Church of Christ at Wells Hill from April 26 through April 29. The theme is “When God Asks a Question.” Sunday Bible class begins at 9:30 a.m., Sunday worship services at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.; the Monday through Wednesday services begin at 7 p.m. Stan Hovis is the song leader. The church is located at 18 Old Huntsville Road.
