Kerry Wade Mason Obituary

Kerry Wade Mason, 74, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and mentor.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, MaryAnn Davenport Mason; his two daughters, Keri Mason Roth (Jim), and DeAnna Mason Thomas (Drew); five beautiful grandchildren, and his sister; Andrea Mason Long.

Born to Dorothy Towry Mason and William Howard Mason, both of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Wade graduated from Tennessee Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science in mechanical engineering, and obtained a Masters of Engineering in chemistry and environmental engineering sciences from the University of Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Wade went on to become an environmental engineer, publishing multiple works, including contributions to the Environmental Protections Act.  Wade not only was an effective engineer in his field, but was also a successful entrepreneur building, operating and selling several businesses in the residential building supply industry.

Throughout every endeavor, Wade was a kind-hearted, gentleman who served as a mentor to many.  He was a compassionate and caring man who always put the needs of others before his own. He lived his life with a giving heart and was known for his humble nature, selflessness, and generosity. Wade filled the hearts of those around him with acts of kindness and never failed to support his family at home and those close to him in his professional career.

A celebration of life will be held for Wade Saturday, May 6 at The Ledges in Huntsville, Alabama. Details will be posted to Facebook for those who knew and loved Wade.
