Mildred “Milly” Edna Curtis Conner, 96, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Bailey Manor.

She was born to Albert and Lucy Curtis on Feb. 25, 1927, in Lawrence County, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; and siblings, including Jessie McDow (Kenneth). She is survived by nieces, Karen Vessell and Jane Fowler of Fayetteville; nephew, Ted McDow of McMinnville and Neil Curtis (Susan) of Palm Bay, Florida, and several other nieces and nephews.

Milly accepted Christ as a young person. After high school, she went to Miami, Florida, to live with her brother. She met and married Don, and they stayed in Miami during her working years. She worked as a tax accountant for Price Waterhouse. Upon retirement, they built a home in Gainesville, Florida, where they lived until Don’s death in 2020. While there, Milly loved gardening and caring for a yard of azaleas and camellias.

She enjoyed many clubs, friends and entertaining. She was a perfect hostess, and a role model for poise and graciousness.

Visitation will be in Gainesville, Florida, and interment with her husband in Bushnell National Military Cemetery in Florida.

Milly had friends at Bailey Manor and a loving family who will remember her and miss her greatly.
