THP to hold sobriety checkpoints on June 5 and June 26
The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) will implement two sobriety checkpoints in Lincoln County during the month of June.
On June 5, the checkpoint will begin at 8 p.m. at the 1.1-mile marker on State Route 122, east of Elora.
The June 26 checkpoint will begin at 8 p.m. on U.S. Highway 431 at the 2.6mile marker.
Troopers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment and take corrective actions for other violations observed while ensuring the protection of all motorists. THP recognizes that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and an effective tool in the battle against impaired driving.
In compliance with a Tennessee Supreme Court ruling for all law enforcement to notify the public of when and where a roadblock will be held, the Tennessee Highway Patrol is advising all motorists of the upcoming checkpoints.
