Michael David Lindsey Obituary

Michael David Lindsey, 60 of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 10, 2026, at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

A lifelong resident of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late George “Lighting” and Annie Ruth Patterson Lindsey of Fayetteville. He was the grandson of the late Woodrow and Alma Patterson of Taft and the late Bert and Virgie Lindsey of Madison County, Alabama.

David was a graduate of Lincoln County High School, class of 1983. David had a lifelong career in the service station business working for Robert Daly, Keith Stevenson, and Terry Monks, and at one point owning his own station “Lindsey’s 431.” He finished his working career at Franke.

David enjoyed the car races at Winchester Speedway, loved going to Quicks Auction Barn, but most of all spending time with his brother, Danny “Blossom” Lindsey also known as “Showboat.”

David was a member of Brogan Ave Baptist Church.

Along with his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Cassidy Lindsey; sister and brother-in -law, Diane Lindsey (Jimmy) Medley; brother, Danny Lindsey; brother-in-law, Dan Bearden; nephews, Nick Lindsey, Michael Medley, and Jarrod Medley.

David is survived by the love of his life, Joann Lindsey of Fayetteville; son, Stephen (Amber) Lindsey of Flintville; step-sons, Casey (Erika) Graves of Shelbyville; Jamie (Ashley) Clevenger of Fayetteville, and his beautiful granddaughters, Emmi Dawn and Andi Claire Lindsey of Flintville; step-granddaughters, Jaylee and Adelyn Clevenger of Fayetteville; sisters, Darlene Lindsey Freeman of Fayetteville, Denise (Rickey) Lindsey Smith of Alabama; bonus brother and sister, Mike and Lori Stewart of Fayetteville; special friend, Terry (Laura) Monks; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nan and Darrin Sims of Fayetteville; special friend, Richard Smith of Fayetteville; aunts and uncles, Wanda (Bobby) Dollar of Taft, Debbie Linnville of Fayetteville, Brenda (Billy) Howard of Lewisburg, Leon Patterson, and Reba Patterson both of Dellrose, Ray Patterson of Athens, Alabama, Cindy Moorehead of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other family.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. A private burial will be held at a later date.
