Lyda Smotherman, 82, of Flintville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at her residence. She was born on April 11, 1943, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, daughter of the late George Washington and Alice Michael Woods. She worked as a seamstress.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Paulene Walden; brothers, Gordon Woods, Clyde Woods, Clifford Woods, Lester Woods and William “Shorty” Woods; and grandson, James Williams, IV.

She is survived by her daughter, Tabitha (Andy) Williams; sons, Terry (Irene) Whitsett, William Whitsett, Paul (Jennifer) Whitsett; grandchildren, Tim, Kim, Terrie-Lynn, Patrick, Cassie, Julia, Harley, Brianna, Jordaan, Brandon, Jenness; 29 great grandchildren; and sister, Faye Colvett.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
