Dorothy “Jean” Henderson Obituary

Dorothy “Jean” Henderson, 87, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital in Tullahoma, Tennessee. She was born March 26, 1938, daughter of the late Hudson Ashby and Lorena Sumners Ashby.

Jean worked as a seamstress and was a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship Church. Her hobbies included bird watching, crocheting, gospel music, puzzle books, and time with her family. Everyone was welcome at her table, and she found fault with no one, seeing the value in each person.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Henderson.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Steve Henderson; daughters, Lorinda Vincent, Sabrina (Alex) Green, and April (Lewis) Steelman; sons, Mickey (Tammy) Henderson, Stacey (Kristy) Henderson, and Stoney (Julie) Henderson; grandchildren, Baretta, Justin, Erika, Axle, Angel, Kayla, Dalton, Dylan, Promise, Amelia, Amanda, and Alexis; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Jenell Tucker, Bro. Bruce Riddle, and the Rev. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery.
