Waine Collette King Obituary
Waine Collette King was born May 28, 1975, to the parents of Wayne and Veronica Ray King of Fayetteville, Tennessee. She is the mother of Khaila King of Fayetteville, Tennessee. Collette received her wings on Aug. 22, 2025, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She was a member of the Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Fayetteville.
Collette graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1993. In her teenage years she won the Ms. Black Lincoln County pageant sponsored by St. Paul AME Church. In 1995, she graduated from Motlow State Community College and ventured off to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. While at Motlow she served as the first runner-up for Miss Motlow. She worked at Walmart in Fayetteville, Tennessee, where she made several friends and was well loved. She moved on to Cato as the store manager until she became ill in 1998.
Collette leaves behind a testament of God’s grace, treasury of love and cherished memories, to be held close in the hearts of those who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Wayne and Veronica King; daughter, Khaila King; two grandchildren, Braelyn and Kylan Black; a brother, Wayne (Renita) King II; sister, Lakia (James) McClellan; two nieces, Makenzie King and Jakeia Suggs; two nephews, Thomas King III and Jayden McClellan; great-niece, Amirah Stallworth; great-nephew, Niko Stallworth; her God-mother, Zeldra Sharp-Jefferson, and a lifelong friend/brother, Rod White. She also leaves behind a host of devoted aunts, cousins, and friends.
Services were held at the Lincoln Central Academy (previously Ninth Grade Academy or Central High School) 909 Main Ave South in Fayetteville.
Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Fayetteville.
Services were entrusted to Grace Memorial Funeral Home of Fayetteville, Tennessee.
