Ronald Fleenor Stewart Obituary

Ronald Fleenor Stewart, 84, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was born in Bristol, Tennessee, on April 15, 1941, to the late Fleenor and Lena Duncan Stewart.

Ron graduated from Appalachian State University with a BA degree in piano performance. He enjoyed putting his musical skills to work as church pianist and by volunteering to accompany church services at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He also enjoyed playing and repairing musical instruments, especially, cellos and violins.

Ron’s career as a computer programmer and analyst began in 1963 and extended over 53 years, with his last employment at the Tennessee Department of Human Services.

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by one son, Levi Stewart.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Spear Stewart; children: Scott Stewart, Harmon (Debbie) Stewart, Mary Stewart, Karen (David) Queener; step-daughter, Jana (Mac) Rogers; daughter-in-law, Celina Stewart; eight grandchildren: Daniel, Montana, Brandon, Alex, Knox, Elijah, Anna, and Joseph; brother, Roy Stewart (LaVerne); and brother-in-law, Alan (Marcy) Spear.
