Janice Lynn Shepheard Smith of Fayetteville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Feb. 16, 2025, after a lengthy illness at Donalson Care Center in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

Born on Nov. 24, 1948, Janice was the daughter of the late Delbert and Doris Shepheard in O’Fallon, Illinois. Janice graduated from O’Fallon Township High School in 1966.

In 1967, Janice met Jack Smith at Scott Air Force Base. Janice and Jack were married in 1968 and went on to have three children, Jennifer, Jeremy, and Jason. They were married for 56 years.

Janice was predeceased by her parents, Delbert and Doris Shepheard of O’Fallon, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Smith of Fayetteville; her children, Jennifer Smith of Fayetteville, Jeremy and Scarlett Smith of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Jason and Tiffany Smith of Minot, North Dakota; four grandchildren, Rebekah, Caleb, Jason, and Joseph; her sister, Dianne and Michael Anders, and niece, Christine Berrios of Shiloh, Illinois.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Lon Ostryzcki officiating. Burial followed in Flintville Cemetery.
