Janice Thorpe Davis, 77, of Dellrose, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, at NHC Healthcare in Pulaski, Tennessee. She was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee, on Feb. 14, 1947, to the late Bee and Frances Gautney. Janice loved finding yard sales with her granddaughter Claire, adventures with her “Golden Girls,” shopping with anyone who was ready to go, going out to eat, and celebrating all special occasions with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her dog, Baby Doll.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Thorpe; second husband, Billy Davis; son, Tony Thorpe; sisters, Judy Smith and Dell Sullenger; and brother, Donald Gautney.

She is survived by her sons, Don (Kristi) Thorpe and John (Andrea) Thorpe; grandchildren, Jeff (Haley) Thorpe, Chris (Paige) Thorpe, Claire Thorpe, JJ Thorpe, Charlie Thorpe, and Destiny Rhodes; and great-grandchildren, Caiden Thorpe, Aubrey Thorpe, Jaxon Thorpe, Colt Thorpe, Case Thorpe and Maverick Thorpe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McBurg First Baptist Church, 353 McBurg Dellrose Rd. Dellrose, Tennessee 38453. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at NHC Pulaski for their compassionate care.

Funeral services were held Jan. 6, 2025, at McBurg First Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Frady officiating. Burial followed in Wrights Cemetery.
