William “Bill” Anthony Wood Sr. Obituary
William “Bill” Anthony Wood Sr., 75, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, on Aug. 30, 1949, to the late Lee Roy and Ruth Elizabeth Jones Wood.
Bill dedicated 40 years of his life to law enforcement, serving with both the Fayetteville Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. His final role was as the school resource officer at Lincoln County High School. Bill also served the community by working as a funeral assistant at the former McCauley Funeral Home and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. He was a member of Park City Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by sisters: Velma Brown, Betty Jacobs, Louise Pickett and Norma Jean Hansert and brother: Roy Junior Wood.
Mr. Wood is survived by his wife of 55 years, Tina Crosslin Wood of Fayetteville; sons, William A. (Christy) Wood Jr. of Fayetteville and Randall Lee Wood of Nicholasville, Kentucky; granddaughters, Kylee Wood and Morgan Wood; and great-granddaughter, Avery Ann Wood.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
